While many companies in the industry already utilize sophisticated systems, ensuring information and data is accessible to employees and departments can remain a challenge. Ultimately, bringing together these tools, systems and information, for decisions to be made quickly, is what gives companies an edge over their competitors.

Additionally, ageing equipment is a common issue faced by many legacy oil and gas companies – resulting in potential losses in revenue and environmental issues. Ensuring the reliability and integrity of pipeline systems, for example, can be a costly undertaking.

However, opportunities exist for companies to leverage their equipment data, and develop preventative maintenance (PM) and inspection routines that identify bad actors in equipment more quickly – ensuring the longevity of equipment and infrastructure.
